Spiced Apple Cake

Ingredients

Method

  1. Cream together the sugar and butter.
  2. Beat in the eggs.
  3. Mix in the flour, baking powder and spices
  4. Fold in the chopped apples.
  5. Pour the mixture into a lined 20cm cake tin and bake at 160C (fan 140C/gas 2) for 50 mins.
  6. While the cake is still warm, paint with runny honey and sprinkle with demerara sugar.

    Serve portions of the cake warm, with either ice-cream, clotted cream or vanilla yoghurt
